Meet Brad Imamura

Brad Imamura with his wife, Kathy, have lived in Marina for over 11 years and who both believe in serving their community that has given so much to them. He and his wife, Kathy—his high school sweetheart—have been happily married ever since. Together, they have raised two sons, welcomed a daughter-in-law into the family, and are proud grandparents to two grandsons.

Brad has dedicated more than four decades of his professional career to public service. He spent nearly 24 years with the City of San José, serving in a variety of roles including Hazardous Materials Specialist, Property Manager, Code Enforcement Inspector, Analyst, and Real Property Agent. His diverse experience has given him a deep understanding of how local government works and how to deliver practical solutions for residents.

He also served nearly nine years with the County of Santa Clara as a Real Property Appraiser and Registered Environmental Health Specialist, followed by more than five years with the Santa Clara Valley Water District as a Senior Real Estate Agent after coming out of retirement to continue serving the public.

Throughout his career, Brad has been a respected leader and advocate for public employees. He was a founding member and President of the Asian-American Association of City Employees and served two terms as President of the Municipal Employees Federation.

Brad also served three terms as an elected and appointed Trustee of the Federated City Employees' Retirement System, including four years as Chair. In that role, he helped establish sound policies and provided oversight of an investment portfolio that grew to more than $1.5 billion, ensuring the long-term security of retirement benefits for hundreds of public employees.

Brad's lifelong commitment to integrity, fiscal responsibility, and public service has prepared him to continue serving the residents of Marina as an elected Director on the Marina Coast Water District Board with experienced leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and a dedication to putting people first.
